High Tea

High Tea is one of my favourite things to do with girlfriends.
Sometimes you just need that time out to relax, and talk rubbish.
I am part of a “lifestyle group” of sorts. We do fun things like go to girls night out movies, fashion shows, high teas, or basically anything cool that we come across.
We get along ‘cos we all have similar interests and we’re all pretty broad minded.
These ladies are honestly what keeps me going… there’s always an event to look forward to and that helps get through the work week. Anyone is welcome to join us- the more the merrier 🙂

So, we’ve tried pretty much ALL the high tea spots in JHB.

My favourite is:
The Saxon (R190 per person for treats, tea and coffee) but the experience is pure luxury. Someone escourts you from your car to the hotel reception in a BMW- and it’s a 100m walk.
The facilities are excellent and the food is good.
I hosted a friend’s kitchen tea there recently and these pictures are courtesy of her photographer, Maritz (http://www.mkphotography.co.za/)

The one below is also at the Saxon but it’s from a separate High Tea (yes, we do this alot)

My second favourite spot is:
The Westcliff (no, I’m not biased, even though I got married there)
It’s R160 a pop and the view is just to die for. These pics are from a sunny Winter’s day.
You can lounge around for hours watching the sunset and chilling out.

Other, also good places to try are:
– Toadbury in Muldersdrift
– Michaelangelo in Sandton

We are going to Moema’s this weekend- I am really looking forward to it as it is a Secret Santa high tea so we all get prezzies!
Will definitely blog about it post the weekend 🙂
