First of all, happy new year!I hope it’s a fantastic one 🙂
I turned 26 on the 30th of December, and this was the first birthday where I wasn’t overly excited. I think it’s an age thing, I’m headed for my 30s now!
My hubby made it super special for me.
Then, I was woken up to a box filled with so many of my favourite things, each one beautifully wrapped.
– a polo jersey that I’ve been eyeing out
– a beige leather passport leather (love leather stationery, and there’s a really cool Swedish store that’s opened in the new section of Sandton City recently)
– travel books on New York and Los Angeles (refer to my post on My Dream USA holiday)
– a portable harddrive
anddd a Kelly Clarkson cd!
Just fab.
I spent a measly 2.5 hours at work, and we then drove to Hartbeespoort.
We had lunch at a stunning restaurant on a citrus farm (http://www.silverorangebistro.co.za/)
The food was divine, and the setting even better. It’s an old farmhouse, and it oozes rustic flair.
 Gorgeous bathroom!
I had Camembert in phyllo for starters, and sole for main. Dessert was absolutely decadent.
Â
 Bread for the table
Peanut butter and fudge icecream- omg!
We spent the night at Stirling Manor, in the presidential suite nogal! Did I not say I got spoilt 🙂 The room was massive, and the bathroom had dual showers and dual basins.
Our room had a stunning view of the dam.
We went to dinner at a restaurant called Siesta. I loved it- it was so different to anything in JHB, I felt like I was in Buenos Aires again! It was a tapas restaurant, all the food was good and the vibe was awesome.
The roof!
Bday gal 😉
MMM- Nacho’s!
We got home to find that our bed had been beautifully turned down with rose petals, perfect end to a perfect day <3
