Craving a homecooked indian meal?
For all my indian readers who have left home (and their mother’s food) for JHB (this applies to non indian curry lovers too!), I have the perfect restaurant for you that will hit the spot on ALL those cravings.
It’s called Currylicious and it’s situated on Malibongwe drive in Randburg – close to Republic road in the centre with Nando’s, Woolies etc.
You can expect beans curry and roti, lamb/chicken/beans bunnies, as well as the north indian food you’ll find at more well known indian restaurants, like Ghazal/Karma.

Personally, the north indian range (butter chicken, etc) is a bit too oily for my liking. It’s okay if it’s oily, but I don’t like the oil to be visible!
The beans curry and roti is as good as home cooked.
I don’t eat any red meat but my hubby says the lamb breyani (only available Fridays and Saturdays, go early cos it gets sold out) is TO DIE FOR.
Portions are huge and you won’t pay more than R100 for a meal for 2 people, providing you’re not a big drinker 😉
To whet your appetite… here’s a pic of the bunny hubby had yesterday..
Try it, promise you won’t be disappointed 🙂

In my experience Indian food = oily food. Whether visible or not. Generally tasty though. And I always love a good bunny chow!

currylicious is nice but also try bombay palace in olivedale, a bit more expensive and i think it is south indian food but in my opinion a better option
