The Griffin: food, beer and a view- what more could you want?

It seems that the whole concept of craft beer has taken over Jozi. Everyone I know loves Foundry Cafe (me included), but going to the same (albeit awesome) place week after week kinda gets old after a while.

Luckily, there’s a new gastropub around. Remember the Attic in Parkhurst? This is the owner’s new brainchild. It is situated in the newly revived Illovo Junction (same place as Enmasse Massage).

I popped by a few weeks ago for sundowners and looved it.

CT peeps will laugh when I say it has a view (of the road), but it’s a view nonetheless and the balcony was packed when I went, creating a cool summer afternoon vibe.

2 cocktails down 🙂

Round 1

Goats cheese bruschetta- REALLY good

Round 2

So we just went for snacks; I can’t really comment on what their dinner menu is like but it looks good. I definitely think it is worth a visit. Treat yourself to a massage at Enmasse before and make a day out of it!

In other news, I have a PACKED weekend ahead of me. I’m actually not sure how I’m going to manage it all. Tonight I’m going to be a little monster at the Lady Gaga concert, then I have to wake up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to go to Sun City for the Nedbank Golf Challenge. On Sunday it’s gonna be another early morning as we’re finally going to do the photography practical at Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens that we’ve been postponing forever.

So yeah, wish I had some time to do cocktails and canapes at the Griffin!
