I’m always more than eager to take a picturesque drive out of Jozi- add food and wine to that and I’m sold!
Expect to walk through the sculpture park, which is a massive area within a nature reserve and is usually closed to the public, while admiring some of SA’s top sculpture work and savouring yummy food and wine produced by Franschhoek’s top chefs and winemakers.
You can also buy a variety of cheeses, charcuterie, wine and chocolates at the Fair’s market, and there’ll also be a separate retail area where whiskies, scarves, leather bags and books will be for sale.
There’ll be picnic tables set up where you can enjoy lunch prepared by chef’s from some of SA’s top restaurants, including Le Quartier Francais and Reubens in Franschhoek.
Tickets cost R100, and are available from www.webtickets.co.za. Use your MasterCard to pay, and get a 10% discount on tickets and items at the event.
The Fair is open from 11:00 – 17:00 on Sat 4 May and from 10:00 – 17:00 on Sun 5 May. For more info, check out www.wintersculpturefair.co.za
I’m planning to go on the Sunday- see you there?
