Bella Restaurant- Sandton’s only worthy breakfast spot?
Given that Sandton is Jozi’s business hub, it’s pretty sad that the breakfast options are so limited. As much as I love Tasha’s, I get tired of it after a while, and I don’t really like going to Sandton City for breakfast – it kind of feels dodgy- like going to a casino early in the morning.
Fill me in if you know of another worthy breakfast spot, but at this point, I think Bella is the only early morning option the golden suburb has to offer.
Bella is situated in a little office park called 66 Rivonia, situated at the same address. It has such a lovely feel- it’s quaint without being stuffy. There is a lot of light in the restaurant, and the decor is simple but tasteful. There’s also a courtyard area adjacent to the restaurant, which would be great in summer.
Bella, a day time restaurant, serves cakes, quiches, light meals and of course, the most scrumptious breakfasts. I was really impressed by the quality of our food- I ordered a bagel with scrambled eggs, cherry tomatos and mushrooms- the bagel was perfect- soft with a crisp outside, and super fresh.
Rishav ordered the Bella Bagel, R75, with crispy bacon, avo, mushrooms and topped with a fried egg. His portion was huge and he struggled to finish his meal (this is really saying something- he is always hungry)
Bella also does takeaway food and catering, and hosts high teas. Might be a good idea for my next Jozilicious Mixer?

Have you been to La Vie en Rose yet?

I have, but only for dinner. We didn’t enjoy the food but many say it’s nice, maybe I should give it another try

This looks great. My husband and I just moved to Johannesburg a fortnight ago. Breakfast out on a Saturday morning is one of our favourite things to do and this place looks perfect.

Hey Amy
How awesome- you have a whole city to explore!
Bella is a great breakfast choice for a Saturday morning, especially now that the weather is warming up.
Enjoy 🙂

Breakfast at Annica’s Deli in Mandela Square is also a great place. Very upmarket and huge variety on the menu. Give it a try and let me know ehat you think.

Someone else mentioned Annica’s to me and I realized that I forgot about it- it too is a worthy sandton breakfast spot- maybe the only other one?
