On second thoughts (not that I have read that you wouldn’t mind us sending our parents) I would give this weekend away to my parents – they celebrate 53 years of marriage at the end of May this year and this would be a lovely way for them to celebrate their love while enjoying some special time away!

My mom has always been one of my best friends. I share everything with her, and she’s my go to person for advice (and hugs!!). Since I’ve moved out of home and to the other side of the city, we see much less of each other than I’d like, so I’d LOVE to win this for some quality time with her!

My mom is my world. Her happiness is defined by my own. She is beautiful inside and out and has dedicated her life to ensuring that my sister and I have everything we need. A mothers love is uncondtional and I know she will always be there for me. I would love to have the opportunity to spoil her for a change.

My mom has been through the ringer – she lost her folks before the age of 15 and ended up in the Government Gazette being advertised for adoption until her cousin and his wife saved the day :/ She’s been through cancer and a divorce and despite someone who really has had so much “crap” (for want of a better word) thrown at her, she remains the most beautiful person. She still always sees the best in people and will give you the clothes off her back. I’d love to be able to send her and her best friend away on this one. She’d love it!

I would love to spoil my mum with this gift to show my gratitude for all those amazing home-cooked curries she has sent me from 600kms away 🙂 Even though she has taught me to cook just like her, nothing beats these specially packed and transported means! She and all other mums who do this are definitely special gems 🙂

They say the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world well my mum rocks this world. She raised 4 daughters is 53 works a 7 to 6 job and goes home to cook and take care of my six year old nephew and goes to bed exhausted. Day in and day out she does this but still with the biggest heart and smile. I wish one day I could have her strength and heart. This would be a most deserving treat for the most amazing woman who still spoils her adult kids and only wish I could give her so much more and all that she deserves.

My mum always refers to herself as ‘the frog in a well’. If I won this…she would jump at the opportunity.

Because she has raised 3 young women to be the best that we can be, because she worked (and currently works) as a practicing attorney fighting for women and children who need her the most, because she still finds time to honour and respect her own Mum, because she gave me everything I needed- and not everything I wanted, because when I go home she has piping hot roti and curry waiting for me 🙂 because she’s my mum.

What can I say about my beautiful energetic mother who is 86 and has the figure of a woman half her age, is proficient in baking, cooking, sewing, loves reading and good movies, still walks regularly in the nature reserve, loves her grandchildren. We are so proud of her and all she has accomplished and everything she means to us. An incredible woman. I am so glad she moved to be near to us, now she doesn’t miss out in any family celebration or Sunday lunch with us. Precious.
