Stanley Beer Yard opens at 44 Stanley

A few weekends ago, I went to 44 Stanley to meet the owner and do some research for my article in the Sunday Independent, which you can read here.

I’ve blogged about 44 Stanley before, but ages ago when I didn’t really know how to blog 😉 … so I wanted to do another post telling you about the Stanley Beer Yard, which you should definitely check out if you’re into craft beer.

Stanley Beer Yard is an indoor loungey type bar which is decorated really beautifully, with a fireplace and warm, inviting seating. Outside there is quite alot more seating in the form of benches- great for large groups. The concept is modelled on the hugely successful & Union in Cape Town, and they stock their full range of craft beers.

They also do some gourmet pub grub, priced at around R60. Except to find prego rolls, boerie rolls etc- all made with the finest ingredients. I haven’t tasted it myself but the owner assured me that he takes the utmost interest into where each and every ingredient used is sourced.

When I went, they had only been open for 3 days and the place was pretty empty, but 2 weeks on I’ve seen lots of buzz about them on Twitter already and I think the place is starting to gain popularity. What’s not to love about sunshine, beer, food, music and shopping (albeit a few metres away:))

Stanley Beer Yard doesn’t have a website of its own, but go to 44 Stanley’s website  here:

Haaappppy weekend, friends!
