I googled directions in advance and the various blogs I landed on stated that it is quite a difficult spot to find. Yes, the location is arb. It’s on the first floor of a pretty uninspiring building. Upon walking in, I could see what the fuss was about. It has an awesome, chilled vibe. There’s seating at the counter, free wifi, couches, and Justin Timberlake blasts from the speakers.
I love that they have TWG tea on the menu, imported from Singapore. I tried it when I was there for the Grand Prix, and it’s the most decadent tea you’ll ever taste- the tea is literally handwoven in a silk teabag. I had the scrambled eggs for breakfast, which were served with chives and were super yummy. After instagramming a picture, I was told by my followers that I had to try the cinnamon toast with a dollop of Paul Ballen’s homemade ice cream- that was divine too. We couldn’t choose between that and the pancakes (R30) so we just ordered both. OMG- I think those pancakes were the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. They were fluffy, light and completely decadent. I’ll be back for those alone.
The place feels really personal, and the owners chat to customers like they’re friends, which probably explains why so many freelancers choose to work from the coffee shop. I get the feeling they wouldn’t judge if you had to sit there for a few hours and order just a coffee 🙂
They also have a range of light meals on offer for lunch, including yummy sandwiches, salads and pastas.
